There are many variations on MLM (Multi Level Marketing) but one of the main things that they all have in common is the need to refer others to your program in order to make money. Not only do you need to get others to sign up to your program but you need to keep them there. This is done using two main ways.
The first main thing that must be addressed is the actual program itself. It must be a system that can be duplicated: meaning that anyone who signs up to it can simply plug into the system and be on there way with minimal supervision.
The system must have step by step progressive guidance built in so that anyone, regardless of experience can make use of it. There should be a forum to allow other members to communicate with each other and bounce ideas around. There should of course be some kind of contact form to allow for questions to be asked (all emails should be responded to in under 72 hours).
The system must also try to stand out in some form; don’t just be a carbon copy of other business that are out there. The system must be easy to follow. They payments made by the program to you must be prompt and safe. The program should be cheap and ideally free.
The second main thing is the sponsor’s role (that’s you). You must be assuring to your referrals and guide them if/when they need it. No system is perfect and so you will likely have to fill in the blanks and even expand on the fundamental system from time to time.
You must be willing and able to confidently communicate with your referrals on a regular basis. You should keep solid records of who is on your team. You should set up an autoresponder to allow for the easy contacting of your many referrals. You must adopt an active learning pattern that keeps you on top of your game; you don’t need to know everything but try to know some stuff really well.
The bottom line is, the sponsor must adopt all of the good roles of a boss, but none of the bad roles that a boss can have. In other words, be supportive and be as a teacher but don’t try to pressure you referrals. You are not in charge of them, they will have likely started an online business to get away from the nagging boss so don’t adopt that position.
